Faculty working with Residents

Residents have protected education time on Tuesday mornings 8 am – 1 pm. During that time, residents are relieved of clinical responsibilities. Faculty provide interactive classroom education in a “flipped classroom” format where learners are assigned reading in advance and take quizzes using phone and computer apps during the session. Every second Tuesday is for simulation, and obstetric and gynecologic procedures and emergencies are reviewed. Other curriculum items include: wellness activities, business of medicine, value conscious care and billing/coding education. The fifth Tuesday of the month is entirely devoted to wellness, and residents are excused on that day to attend dental and medical appointments.
